Parking a Call

The Call Park feature in Level365’s hosted VoIP service allows an active call to be placed in a “parking lot” so it can be retrieved from another phone. This guide covers how to use BLF (Busy Lamp Field) Park Buttons for quick visual access, along with important notes about parking lot extensions, timing, and best practices.

Using Park Buttons (BLF) on IP Telephone

Parking a Call:

  1. While on an active call, press one of the Park BLF buttons (typically labeled Park 1, Park 2, or Park 700, Park 701).
  2. The call will be placed in the associated parking lot (for example, Park 1 = extension 700).
  3. The BLF button will light up, indicating that a call is parked there.

Retrieving a Parked Call

  1. Identify the lit Park BLF button that corresponds to the parked call.
  2. Press the button to immediately retrieve the call.

Using the *** Parking Method

typically used on desktop and mobile softphones, Microsoft Teams, and analog extensions

Parking a Call

  1. While on an active call, press the asterisk key three times (***).
  2. The system will announce the parking lot extension (for example, “The call is parked at Seven Zero Zero”).

Retrieving a Parked Call

  1. Note the parking lot extension announced when the call was parked.
  2. Dial that extension (for example, 700) and press  Send/Dial to retrieve the call.

Always listen for and remember the announced parking lot number when using the *** method to ensure the correct call is retrieved.

Notes and Additional Information

  • The number of parking lots can be customized based on call volume and staffing needs.
  • If a parked call is not answered within the set time limit (default is two minutes), it will ring back to the phone that parked it. This duration can be adjusted.
